Re: Hotel Near US Consulate Chennai I visited Chennai in Mid Dec 2013 and stayed at Crescent Park Hotel (Address: - 28, Mayor Shivashanmugam Street | Nungambakkam, Chennai 600034, India (Nungambakkam). This is good budget hotel and is situated at very prime location which is also city center called Nungabakkam. US consulate is just 10 minutes away. The hotel has very good rooms, serves good limited choice b'fast and has good wifi facility. There are many food options available near to consulate and hotel. You can ask the hotel reception to arrange one auto to drop you at US consulate and pay just INR 50/- (Approx. US$1) To travel in chennai city local train is best which is very very very very cheap, efficient and fast service. You should board local train outside airport. Take ticket for Nungambakkam, will cost only INR 5/- get down and take pedal rickshaw or Tuk tuk/auto and pay just INR 20/- and u will reach hotel within 40 minutes from airport and expenses less than 1 dollar.
