Taj Mahal Palace Hotel Delhi

I stayed in the Taj Palace for a week in August 2011. The service was extremely attentive...if anything it was bordering on obsequious. But I can't really fault them for that, just because I'm not used to people asking me if I'd like for them to draw me a bath, mist my face with rosewater at the pool, or unlock my door for me as I walk down the hall toward my room! I'm sure lots of people would be glad to be treated like royalty. Everyone I dealt with was polite and professional.
The rooms were lovely...not large but very comfortable and well equipped with fast, reliable wifi, enormous tubs, a great shower, and good beds. There are several restaurants in the hotel. I ate at one that specializes in Vietnamese cuisine, which was quite good, as well as another that serves a whole range of Indian and western dishes, also very nice.
I was in New Delhi on business, so didn't have much time for site-seeing and can't comment on proximity to attractions, unfortunately. But the hotel is situated in a leafy, green area, which can make it easy to forget that you're in the middle of an enormous city.
Would definitely recommend, especially if you are on business and don't have to pay the tab yourself!
